WHAT TO PACK?

Lots of questions come up a few days before you leave.

How is the weather at the destination of your trip?

Cold or warm. Or even big temperature diffences between night and day. Always sunny or mostly clouded or rainy.

What do I want to do?

Just lying at the beach and enjoying the hotel activities or adventures like hiking, sports… .

The most important things are the ones you need for the flight or you probably can not buy at your destination.

Like passport, visa, tickets and any licences you might need like drivers or divers license etc.

If you need regular medicine you should take enough for the time of your stay and also description from your doctor.

I usually take also a little emergency kit which contains plasters, medications for fever, headache, desinfection spray or creme for cuts or other injuries. Sunprotection is another really important thing I always take where ever I go. I got a sunburn in scotland in the highlands because I had snow and sunshine.

The rest depends on what you like to do in your vacation.

In this case I will go to an all inclusiv hotel and my favourite diving center. So most of the time I will spend diving.

I will take my diving gear. But you do not need it because most of the centers provide lots of stuff to rent.

If you want to snorcle you usually can buy glasses and a snorcle at the shops in or next to the hotel but you might prefer having your own one.

In lots areas there are sea urchins and other sharp things in the water. So I would recommend swimming shoes and also a swimming shirt with long sleeves because of the sun.

I always take a big scarf. It is useful in lots of different situations. If you feel cold, you trousers are not long enough for visiting a mosque or a shirt, something to lye on at the beach…

I like to travel light. So I look for chlothes I can combine. If necessary I wash by myself because you never know if the laundry is back in time. But it is a good service if you stay longer at one place. So I usually take enough for the duration of my stay. But on hiking tours I usually take things I can wash and they dry over night.

It is also good to have some free place for souvenirs left

For the flights I prefer stretchy materials like leggings, t-shirts, sweaters, sneakers, and my scarf.

I hope this might help you to make your mind up.
